The water is clear and shallow and swimming is a pleasure, especially in the morning. You share the waves with the locals, who also come for a swim every morning.

On Saturdays, you should definitely visit the farmers' market in Minoos Street - just a stone's throw from Koum Kapi. Fresh fruit and vegetables, straight from the Cretan soil - if you've ever tried these tomatoes, you'll know what I'm talking about.
